The innovative fluid technology is designed to aid in the development and manufacturing of metal parts and, according to Castrol, boasts a stable pH of 9-9.5. The lubes producer claims its Hysol product line, which contains a high level of additives, will vastly increase the lifespan of cutting equipment and reduce the need for other chemical agents in the cutting process.

Castrol states the new technology reduces liquid deterioration that can lead to a drop in pH levels, emulsion instability and poor performance, with the technology used in Hysol promoting a stable pH throughout the cutting process.  The overall outcome is increased manufacturing productivity and quality.

Tests run by the company show that the Hysol XBB was 24% more effective than a control group of industry lubricants in neutralising acidic substances and boasted a 30% reduction in total liquid lost.
