Challenges in lubricants development – sustainability, raw materials and new technologies

An examination of the key issues set to drive the future of global lubricants development

First delivered at the 2015 UNITI Material Oil Technology Congress, this presentation from Fuchs Petrolub SE Executive Board Member, Dr Lutz Lindemann, examines the key factors that could drive the future of lubricants development and marketing around the world.

These include issues such as sustainability, the changing nature of raw materials and a need for new chemistry to meet the demands of more complex materials and lubricants applications. In addition, Dr Lindemann examines the impact of REACH and the Global Hazard Standard (GHS) which is already leading to a paradigm shift in the the way lubricants are tested, labelled and marketed.
