ExxonMobil has been given preferred supplier status by dealership company, Group 1 Automotive.
With 121 auto dealerships, 153 franchises and 28 accident repair centres across the US and UK, Group 1 is a major player in the automotive supply and repair chain. The deal with ExxonMobil involves the supply of Mobil 1 lubes and OEM lube programmes across Group 1's US network.
The agreement means all Group 1 dealers will recommend Mobile-branded engine oils for dealer-based vehicle service with additional sales and marketing support from ExxonMobil. The deal splits roughly 50-50 between existing OEM programmes and direct Mobil brand sales.
The Group 1 US dealer network comprises some 111 outlets selling vehicles ranging from Toyota/Lexus and BMW/Mini to Porsche, Audi, GM and Kia. ExxonMobil will provide support for both its Mobil 1 and Mobil Super range to the network.
