Honda & Castrol tie supplier and tech deal


Honda and Castrol enter a co-enginerering partnership.

Honda Motor Europe has joined forces to create Castrol's new range of low-viscosity lubricants for existing Honda car models.

Edge Pro logoThe two companies have entered into a three-year agreement to produce Castrol EDGE Professional H, with Castrol becoming Honda's recommended lubes supplier.

The new lubes will be used in Honda's existing range of high-tech i-VTEC petrol engines and i-DTEC diesel engines.

Products use will extend to the new 1.6 i-DTEC engine which is already available on the Civic and will soon be introduced on the CR-V and Civic Tourer, as well as Honda's range of hybrid engines.

To date, Castrol's main collaboration with the Japanese automaker has been through its motorsport activities including MotoGP and teh FIA World Touring Car Championships.
