It's flippin Mini madness

Performing the perfect backflip on a snowcovered mountain is second nature to snowboarders. But not for a Mini!

Most people wouldn't consider driving their car on a ski slope, let alone performing stunts.  But for Guerlain Chicherit. it was flipping simple. In the ultimate stunt, the extreme sportsman, and rally driver performed the stunning loop “unassisted - or in official speak: without the aid of a special ramp with moving parts to boost the car’s rotational movement.

No stranger to a quarterpipe on a freestyle course, the four-times freestyle skiing World Champion took off from a static ramp of snow, similar to one for ski and snowboard stunts and built as a carefully calculated angle.

With an extremely light touch on the Mini's accelerator, the daredevil Frenchman achieved what no other driver in the world has previously managed: a perfect landing.

The stunt took place in Tignes, one of France's best-known winter sports locations and has already become a YouTube sensation.
