Kunlun improves lubes quality

A major Chinese lubes producer is focusing on improving anti-wear credentials

Long-established in China as a leading lubricants brand, Kunlun has recently upgraded its Tianrun lubricants line to meet not only API and ACEA standards, but also those set by China's internal petroleum ministry. The products contain less sulphur but more additive compounds to improve quality.

Kunlun's revamped line, which focuses heavily on anti-wear and friction reduction technologies, is tailored well for urban use. One of the problems identified by researchers at Kunlun's Dalian and Lanzhou labs was the excess of sludge deposits when lubes were tested in heavy traffic jam conditions that involve a lot of stopping and starting. The Chinese producer claims its latest offering addresses these issues.

Kunlun Lubricants, a subsidiary of Chinese oil giant PetroChina, also reiterated its commitment to manufacturing quality lubes for the OEM segment.
