Mobil is set to replace the Esso brand in Russia

Mobil 1 packExxonMobil is now offering its more widely-established Mobil brand in Russia, replacing its Esso semi-synthetic motor oil brand. According to Lube Report's Boris Kamchev, Mobil is the second largest light motor oil marketer in Russia - eclipsed only by the domestic Lukoil. - with its synthetic lubricants becoming ever more popular as the number new cars rises across the country.

The Esso Ultra and Ultra Turbo Diesel 10W-40 products have been rebranded to Mobil Ultra 10W-40 and offered throughout Russia from the beginning of June 2013.

ExxonMobil said it will also recommend use of Mobil Super 3000 X1 5W-40 and Mobil Super Turbo Diesel 3000 X1 5W-40 as replacements for Esso Ultron and Esso Ultron Turbo Diesel 10W-40, another Esso brand that will no longer be available after June this year along with all other Esso products previously available in Russia.
