Sinopec JV tops China's production charts

China's Sinopec is topping the country's composite lubricant production charts.

In 2001 the state-owned company entered into a joint venture with UK-based Infineum to build a lubricants plant in the Pudong New District of Shanghai.  The two companies recently completed an expansion programme, building composite additive blending units capable of producing 20,000 tonnes annually.

The new plant doubled the existing capacity, making it the largest composite producer in China and comes on the back of news that China's locally produce lubes had increased to a 35% share of the domestic high-end market in the last month.  Fuel demand was also high.
