Obang!
The residents of Scottish town Oban witnessed a fireworks display to remember after a technical fault triggered a pyrotechnic disaster.

Now nicknamed 'Obang', the incident has become a global hit on video website YouTube after a technical glitch turned a 20 minute firework display into a 50-second horror-show. The event was being held for Bonfire Night - a British tradition celebrating the failure of Guy Fawkes to blow up the Houses of Parliament in London on 5 November 1605.
To the credit of fireworks company Pyro1, they turned catastrophe into success after the intial shock of watching £6,000 ($9,400) worth of pyrotechnics go up in smoke in under a minute. Having admitted the problem, they not only provided a free five minute display to the residents of Oban for the end of their Winter Festival, but are also cashing-in on the benefit of almost 900,000 viewers watching the YouTube video.
The company clearly has a sense of humour, putting the video of the disaster on its own website, but is also turning it into financial success with the launch of its 'Obang' firework display. Described as "a short and sharp action-packed flurry of fireworks", Pyro1's latest offering is sure to make any party go with a bang.
