Innospec moves into oilfield chemicals
The oilfield chemicals market has been identified as the next area for growth for speciality chemical and fuel additive producer Innospec Inc.
The drive is aimed at growing the company, which currently has 800 employees in 23 countries, supplying speciality chemicals and additives to the Americas, Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia.
Innospec CEO, Patrick Williams, described the oilfield chemicals sector as: "an exciting new opportunity", allowing the company to use its fuel treatment and technical expertise to develop and market a new product range for the upstream sector.
Although no timescales have been given for product launch, the new business will be headed up by Thomas C. Entwistle, who was promoted to the role of Vice President, Oilfield Specialities Americas.
