Japanese lubes producer, Idemitsu, is set to expand it's US blending plant and create new jobs.

The blending operation and storage centre in Jeffersonville, Indiana, is being prepared for a $21m makeover including building and equipment improvements for the site which has been in operation since 1992.

The Japanese company, which produces high-performance automotive and industrial lubes, will boost its existing 60-strong workforce by a further 28 employees - expanding its annual payroll by around $1m by 2014.

Keen to maintain its relationship with the company, Southern Indiana State has provided tax relief and other incentives to help Idemitsu develop and expand its US operations.
