Brenntag buys Multisol

Bookmark and Share

Chemical distribution specialist Multisol has been bought by its larger rival, Brenntag, to create a substantial operation in Europe and Africa.

The deal, worth a reported £112m on an expectation of £238m sales by Multisol next year, boosts the German company's distribtuion network as well as providing additional mixing and blending capacity.

Multisol, based in the North of England, has seen significant growth as an independent company to the point where a public floataion on the UK's AIM market was considered in 2010.

Instead, the organisation - which employed 170 before the sale - now becomes part of the Brenntag brand which claims the purchase will help fulfil its ambitions of expanding its produce range and client base across Europe and Africa.
