Castrol Biolubes for new Korean vessels

Bookmark and Share

Castrol Marine is supplying biolubes to Korea's STX shipyard for a number of new builds.

Castrol's BioBar hydraulic biolubricants will initially be used in the cargo pumping systems of five new chemical carriers being built for the Formosa Plastics Corporation.  The vessels will transport raw materials for plastics as well as diesel fuel between the US and Asia.

Castrol Marine recently introduced its Bio Range to the Korean shipbuilder and is hoping that this is the start of a long-term contract for the use of the low environmental impact lubricants which are now on STX's aprpoved lubricants list.
