Mobil adds gear oil to range
ExxonMobil has added industrial gear oil lubricants to its SHC range.
The new products, to be called the Mobil SHC Gear series, will be high-performance, fully-synthetic products specifically designed for extreme environments including oil and gas operators as well as steel and other manufacturing sectors.
ExxonMobil claim the new gear fluids have demonstrated up to 3.6% energy savings under laboratory and field test conditions and are particularly effective in water-handling and improving resistance to micropitting fatigue.
The new range is already gaining approval from OEMs with Siemens approving it for its Flender gearboxes and will compliment Mobil's existing industrial oil and grease products.
