The new product, launched by US-based Klüber Lubrication, is specially designed to lubricate plastic car components, often blamed for annoying squeaks and rattles in vehicle interiors.

The grease, named Klübersynth RA 44-702 is a fully synthetic, high viscosity, ouderless grease that can be used in plastic-plastic and plastic-metal interfaces and is designed to reduce oscillation, noice and vibration for such seemingly mundane components as ventilation flaps, sunvisors, ashtrays and cup holders.

Greases of this kind can have a significant impact on the feel and handling of individual car components such as switches or seat movement, according to Klüber Lubrication, which is part of Freudenberg Chemical Specialities KG, a division of the Freudenberg Group in Weinheim, Germany.
