Bookmark and Share

The Polyisobutylene market is set to reach 410,000 tons in North America by 2015.

A new report claims that the market will be driven by increased demand for the elastomer, in particular for highly reactive polyisobutylene (HR-PIB).  PIB is mainly used in lubricant and fuel additives, as well as adhesives and sealants.

North America is the largest market in the world for PIB which is available in Low, Medium and High molecular weights.  Weights of 950 and 1300 are regarded as industry standard and key players in the sector include TPC Group, Ineos, Lubrizol and Chevron Oronite.

The report, "Polyisobutylene: A North American Market Report" has been produced by Global Industry Analysts, Inc.
