China lubes guide to change practice

Bookmark and Share

A new guide on the correct use of commercial lubricants is set to raise standards in China’s commercial and consumer lubes sectors.

The guide has been jointly produced by the Chinese Society of Automotive Engineers and PetroChina’s Kunlun Lubricants R & D Centre.  Aimed at commercial vehicle manufacturers, maintenance technicians and commercial users, the guide is the first of its kind in China.

The guide give details of the correct use of commercial vehicle lubricants and comprises four main sections: engine oil, transmission fluid, grease and special fluids, in particular focusing on quality, grade and liquid type.  There are also maintenance guidelines and instructions for appropriate use of different vehicle lubricants.

The guide is the culmination of over a year of research and is set to help standardise best practice and lubricant use in a sector that has frequently been subject to the use of non-standard lubricants and false advertising.
