Pertamina, Indonesia's state owned oil and gas company, is expanding its Asian presences, starting in the marine sector.

The company's export of three containers of marine lubricants to South Korea is, according to the company, only the start of Pertamina's move in selling lubes to that country, with industrial and automotive products set for export in the near future.

The shipment included five marine lubes products in a direct sale to Hyndai Heavy Industry, but similar products have already been exported to China and Singapore, as well as automotive lubes to Asia, Australasia, the Middle East and Europe.

Earlier this year Pertamina said it was targeting sales of between 125,000 to 150,000 K/liters of product in 2011, with Australia, Pakistan, and the UAE as its largest customers.  As reported by OATS it is also planning to establish an Asian production plant but has yet to decide on the location.
