Ashland India Private Ltd has acquired a 10-acre site to build a lubricants plant for Valvoline.

The Ashland Inc. subsidiary acquired the land to build a packaging and blending plant for Valvoline's automotive, industrial and heavy lubricants.

The plant will produce 100 million litres of lubricants when it opens in late 2011 in the Ambernarth Industrial Area outside Mumbai.  The plant will be managed by Ashland and partners Cummins India and will blend and supply to the region.

The site will also have capacity for product development and technical services for local composites manufacturers.
