Afton Chemical Corporation will look to increase its customer support in the Asia pacific with the opening of their most recent research and development facility in the eastern city of Suzhou, Jiangsu province.

The new facility will provide its customers with enhanced technical services, including sample blending, physical and chemical analysis and performance testing.

Situated in the Suzhou Industrial Park, the laboratory will replace the old research and development lab in neighbouring Shanghai. Although the company has already made significant investments in a similar facility in Japan's Tsukuba,  Warren Huang, President of Afton Chemical, believes the newer, more advanced facilities will enable the company to develop “customised solutions in the region, for the region.”

As part of the globally-oriented NewMarket Corporation, Afton Chemical develops and manufactures petroleum additives for cleaner and more efficient fuels, as well as additives for gasoline, lubricity improvers, transmission fluids and a range of other oil-based lubricants products.
