Chevron Oronite Company will build a wholly-owned additive manufacturing plant in Ningbo's Economic & Techincal Development Zone in order to meet rising demand for additives solutions in the region.

The project is scheduled to come online sometime in 2019, although timelines are still under review and could be altered depending on market demand.

Chevron Oronite president Desmond King claimed a recent expansion at the company's Singapore facility enabled it to meet growing demand from the Asia Pacific region, including China, but expects an increase in orders in the near future.

"While our Singapore plant is the largest additives manufacturing facility in the region, we also anticipate that additive demand will continue to grow in China and new capacity will eventually be required", said King in a recent press release.

"Adding a new supply point in China by the end of this decade will provide even greater flexibility to help ensure we continue to reliably meet our customers' needs through a supply chain that is unmatched in our industry."
