Eco Ultra Synthetic Blend Motor Oil awarded Dexos1 licence


Universal Lubricant's Eco Ultra Synthetic Blend Motor Oil is awarded a dexos1 licence.

Universal logoThe US' largest oil re-refiner has announced that it's motor oil now meets GM's Dexos1 requirements for petrol engines and is also API licenced, meeting SAE requirements and other OEM specifications as well.

GM has revealed it will use the oil in its all-electric vehicle, the Chevrolet Volt.

The motor oil, which will reach retail shelves in late 2013, is made from purified re-refined base oil which is blended with high quality synthetic base oils and high performance additives and is a product of Universal Lubricants' closed loop process.

Meanwhile Universal has also announced the trademarking of its base oil as "EcoClear™".  The move is part of its ongoing campaign to encourage environmentally responsible lubricant recycling.

There was a further boost for the company's marketing expertise with the news that Jan Horsfall, formerly Universal Lubricants’ chief marketing officer, has been appointed as Universal's s new CEO, succeeding John Wesley.
