ExxonMobil's re-organisation

The recent ExxonMobil re-structure may appear relatively routine, but John Sargeant and Stuart Speding, believe it has more significant implications for the lubricants industry as a whole.

RPS Energy's Senior Consultant and Head of Lubricants Practice claim in their White Paper that there is more to the re-alignment of ExxonMobil's fuels and lubes marketing business than meets the eye.

The paper looks beyond the internal implications for one of the world's largest companies and examines the wider implications for the lubes industry and lubricants marketing in particular.

Sargeant and Speding ask two key questions: Internally, what role and contribution will XOM expect lubes and base oils to make to the wider corporation? Externally, what will be the impact of this integration on XOM’s competitive behaviour in lubricants markets?

The answers make fascinating reading an suggest that ExxonMobil's latest move could be a 'wake-up' call for the industry as a whole.
