Manchester United link prompts Gulf Oil's launch of Chinese service stations.

Gulf Oil International is partnering with Beibei Energy to open its first 25 service stations in China.

According to Vice President of Gulf Oil International, Frank Rutten, the company's growth in China has been "extremely rapid".

Its entry into the service station market has been accelerated by its more than two-year partnership with Manchester United which has led to a high level of engagement amongst fans in the country.

Manchester United's Group Managing Director Richard Arnold said, "With over 100 million Manchester United followers in China, Gulf's partnership with the club is stronger than ever and we look forward to expanding it further through these exciting new service stations."

The company plans to establish 1,000 - 1,200 service stations in the medium term.
