Plato takes a bath but wins the day

Chevrolet's British Touring Car racing drivers took a bath when they went head-to-head on the circuit in a Chevrolet driver's challenge.

The event, staged by Silverline Chevrolet to celebrate the team's first year in the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship included a number of whacky challenges such as reversing the race car transporter into a parking bay; superfast wheel changing on the race car and driving on a tightrope.

But without doubt, the whackiest challenge of all was the bath race, pitting Jason Plato against his teammate Alex MacDowall for a one lap race in... motorised bath tubs.

With commentary by BTCC race and TV commentator Ben Edwards, who kept up with the racers by using a motorised toilet, the battle was hard fought.  Victory on the day eventually went to MacDowell.

However, Plato cleaned up when the real flag dropped, taking his race-prepared Chevrolet Cruze to back-to-back victories in the final round of the Championship held at England's famous Brands Hatch circuit.  The wins gave Plato his second BTCC crown and a record-equalling 60th Touring Car victory.
