Shell introduces PurePlus tech to China lubes

Oil major introduces new cleaning agent to its popular lubricants line

As consumer demand for clean and efficient lubes products in China increases, Shell’s Chinese arm has introduced PurePlus technology to its Helix products. The lubes engineering, which will be used in the 0W-20, 0W-30 and 0W-30 lubes, will increase the cleaning properties of the lubricant and will extend the longevity of the engine, claims Shell.

The products will be made with higher quality Grade III base oil stocks, which will enable the lubricants to perform at temperatures between –30o and 35oC, making it ideal for use in China’s wintry northern regions.

The technology uses natural gas to create a pure synthetic base oil which can, in turn, be used for a wide variety of commercial products.

Shell’s global commercial diesel and lubricants (Asia and Middle East) Vice Chairman, Wu Ruizhen, believes the quality of the firms offerings will continue to rise over the coming months and years.
