SK Energy offers window into challenges

The imminent G20-Summit in South Korea allowed the country's SK Energy group the opportunity to meet senior executives from key oil producers.

At the meeting, SK pressed for further co-operation and explored areas for global growth.  The overall view of the meeting showed optimism for market conditions over the next 12 months, despite an uncertain economic outlook.

Turning to specific issues, SK urged Spanish lubes producer Repsol to consider a boost in cooperation in the building of SK Energy's fourth lubricant plant.  The joint site, in Cartagena, is due for completion in 2013 with a capacity of 13,300b/d.

There was also specific discussion with Woodside of Australia to explore collaboration relating to large liquified natural gas projects.
