Total continues partnership with Kia and Formula One

Total continues partnerships with Kia and F1.

From the beginning of 2017, Kia's service network of more than 5,500 dealers in around 180 countries will exclusively recommend Total-branded lubricants. Owners of the Korean manufacturer's vehicles, as well as dealers, will continue to have access to Total Quartz engine oils for the next five years.

The two companies will have joint marketing service programs.

Meanwhile the French oil major has also continued its successful partnership with Renault Sport Formula 1 and Red Bull Formula One.

This year's Shangai Grand Prix saw the company supply technical assistance along with fuel and lubricants for the Renault R.S.16 and the Red Bull RB12 racing cars.

Collaboration between Total and the Solaize Research Centre has led to the development of F1 fuels and lubricants which can meet the requirements of combustion stability, an engine which runs at above 12,000 rpm and a temperature close to 1,000°C. Fuel consumption has been reduced by 35%, a benefit which should translate to consumer product ranges.
