Airtel Kenya's managing director, Shivan Bhargava, commented: "This partnership will enable our customers to pay for their fuel in a fast, safe and convenient way".

As part of a drive to expand its reach in the retail sector, Airtel Money is planning to increase its agents in Kenya from 9,500 to 15,00 by the end of the year, in a bid to compete with sector leader M-Pesa.
