Japanese tyre maker Yokohoma took the top spot for China in this year’s original equipment tire satisfaction survey, which was conducted by J.D. Power and Associates. The Japanese manufacturer scored 843 out of a possible 1,000 points, edging out Western brands Dunlop and Bridgestone which scored 837 and 833 respectively.

Appearance, durability, traction, handling, ride and consumer satisfaction were all taken into account in the survey, which was conducted in 37 major Chinese cities. Despite poor cross-border relations which have significantly affected autosales, Japanese tyre makers still averaged a score of 834, slightly above their European and U.S. counterparts, which scored 833 and 817.
